In 1996, a small group of people from different Adventist churches in Jacksonville and various cultural backgrounds set out on a quest. Driven by a desire to establish another Adventist church in the Arlington neighborhood of Jacksonville, they began gathering in a home to pray and study the Bible together. The church adopted the name “First Coast” because of its location in Jacksonville, which has been known for more than 100-years as the first northeastern coastal city of the Florida peninsula. Our mission is to be the first place where people of all nations encounter Christ’s love and message of hope in His soon return.
FCI is a faith community of the Seventh-day Adventist Church, a mainstream Protestant church, with approximately 19 million members worldwide, including more than one million members in North America. We seek to enhance quality of life for people everywhere and to let people know that Jesus is coming again soon.

What to Expect
Each weekend service features amazing worship, full of inspiring music and biblical teaching with a relevant life-changing message—and plenty of opportunities to fellowship with others. Some members wear dresses or suits with ties, while other dress casually with jeans and t-shirts. All you have to do is come as you are and enjoy yourself in the Lord! Our purpose for gathering together on Saturday is to praise the Lord, our CREATOR and REDEEMER in worship and fellowship with other believers.
